Avoiding Face Recognition
How do robots "see" the world? Timo Arnalls' short film, is an exploration of precisely this topic, a inquiry into how machines make sense of the world around them. This video is showing how a view of the world imposed on computers by humans -cars moving, people walking, signs passing and mouths talking- each shrinking the organic to a single moving data point. FaceOSC for example, is using data points from your eyebrows, eyes, nose and mouth. With the assignment to trick or distract a recognition software, I tried to blind out these data points with blue LED’s.
